Happy Monday everyone! While I was home for the weekend, I went to an engagement party for a long-time family friend. It was beautiful! From her friend’s gorgeous home, to the craft cocktails, no detail was missed. It’s always fun to catch up with friends too, the ones that never seem to fade no matter the distance between us.
Because I knew it would be a blast from the past, I was pressured to find the perfect outfit, which wasn’t the easiest task. Below is the look I landed on – a soft blush dress with cutout details and neutral accessories. It’s so dainty and feminine, I could really wear it to any wedding related event from engagement parties, bridesmaids luncheons, wedding showers – you name it!
I also tried this dress on with black shoes and a black clutch. I loved the look, but it wasn’t quite the right fit for the engagement party. I wanted to go with something classic. The dark accessories made it look more like a “night out” look, but hey… at least I know I can wear the dress another time! If you want to find a similar look, check out Saks Off 5th, J.Crew Factory or Banana Republic Factory Store at Tanger Outlets. I’ve seen tons of blush at each of those stores lately.
Now to be honest, there were guests in all different looks at the party. I’m talking everything including a bright yellow, wide-brimmed hat (not recommended) to an all white pant suit. I think flirty light colors are always the best bet – they can make a statement without drawing attention away from the bride-to-be (unlike the hat – I should’ve snapped a picture to share with you). Any of the looks below would be perfect. There’s one for every personality too. Each of them add a unique flair with a skirt or cute pant and would be perfect for ringing in the wedding bells at a shower or event.
I can’t wait to enjoy more of the wedding soirees that are coming up. I have a serious itch to go shopping again, but I guess it will have to wait until after the work day (the struggle is real). I’m sitting here day-dreaming of walking through Express Factory Outlet or Forever 21 with racks and racks of dresses calling my name.
Be sure to tell me about your wedding party fun! I want to hear all the deets! Share some pictures below. I can’t wait to see!
