Spring semester is wrapping up which means it’s time for graduation ceremonies and after parties. Lots of them!
Whether you’re hosting the party or joining in on the fun as a guest, I’m here to help you pull off the perfect party, gift(s) and those fab outfits needed for each event while keeping your budget in check.
Let’s get started, shall we? There will be a quiz at the end. JK!
Party Prep on a Dime
Hosting parties can add up quickly so here are my top go-to tricks for party planning without spending a ton-o-cash.
- Time of Day: Choose early/mid afternoon OR later in the evening (if you’re wanting more of a late night deal) for the party to help save on food & beverage costs. Finger foods are perfect, easy to assemble and totally appropriate for these time frames.
- Printables: These are a budget-conscious, party planner’s best friend and are ALL OVER Pinterest. Invites, photo booth props, games, favor tags…you name it, you can likely find it. Some are totally free and others can be purchased for a small amount.
#TangerTip: If you know someone else who’s throwing a graduation party (with a separate guest list) then offer to share the cost of the printable party packages with them!
Gifts for the Grad
Home decor items are always a great idea for high school and college grads since they’ll likely be starting a new chapter and in need of some fun ways to add flare to their new digs.
Bonus points if you theme the gifts around these new adventures and recent accomplishments.
I love these pieces from T.J.Maxx and both are under $25!
Make your gift(s) memorable! These fun, city tea towels from West Elm are a great way to play up the grad’s new city or even cities that you’ve visited together.
Don’t shy away from gift cards, especially Tanger gift cards. Money is ALWAYS appreciated and when they can shop all their favorite brands for professional attire, home decor or even just for fun, it’s a win/win.
Look The Part
Finally, the most important inspo I can share…the outfits! As always, shop your closet first for pieces that you can build off of. No need to buy multiple outfits if you don’t have to, right?
My white, skinny jeans and I are BFFs right now, and I recently found this flirty, striped off-the-shoulder shift dress that has quickly made its way into my top 5 wardrobe choices for the summer.
Cute, comfy dress for the graduation ceremony…add the white skinnies and some wedges for that late afternoon party. Done!
To play your part as the cool, calm and totally fab party hostess it’s ok to splurge a little. Check out this floral strapless dress.
O.M.G. It’s so gorgeous and is definitely investment worthy because it’s perfect for any semi-formal occasion. (Wedding season is about to peak, you know!)
Congrats, Class of 2017! Best of luck to you…and to all you party planning and party going #TangerSavers.
