Holy cow! Easter is THIS Sunday. Technically, our daughter’s first Easter was last year – but as we all know, a 3-month-old can’t really participate in any of the festivities. This year, she’ll be hunting for eggs with the best of them which makes the holiday that much more fun for our family.
We’ve got a packed agenda of church, neighborhood Easter egg hunt and then it also happens to be my brother-in-law AND sister-in-law’s birthdays. Talk about a busy day of celebrations.
I’m spending this week rushing around stocking up on the essentials: goodies for our Easter baskets, presents for the birthday parties and outfits to make for a frame-worthy family photo.
Like any modern-day momma, I’m frantically Googling and looking to Pinterest for fun DIY projects to add some extra excitement to the day. If you’re looking for some fourth quarter inspiration, here are some of my favorites:
- Watercoloring eggs with your littles. Turns out it’s less of a mess and way more fun than the old-school way of dyeing.
- Decorating with daffodils. Mainly, because we have these sprouting up all over our yard. I plan on sending the kiddos out to do the collecting!
- And finally, these homemade peeps. I’m fully prepared for this to turn out as a DIY fail, but they are too cute not to try!
Now that I’ve got the kids covered – I also have a little treat planned for yours truly. Like so many, we had family pictures taken shortly after our daughter was born. But, like all moms can attest to – despite our best efforts, a newborn and post-partum mother don’t always make for the greatest photos.
We’re using this Easter as a chance to get all dolled-up and snap some memories. This is what I’m thinking for outfit inspo: I want us to look casually-chic, but not too styled. We’ll be looking to our favorite neutral colors to achieve this look. I’ll most likely be making a run to Gap or J.Crew at Tanger before Sunday.

Remove the mountains and add a whole lot of pollen (courtesy of spring in the southeast) and hopefully we’ll have some gorgeous photos of our own.
I hope you all have a wonderful Easter weekend! Share your egg hunts and family-style using #TangerMom.
