A mom is a special kind of person. When I think of my mom, I think of my mentor, role model and best friend who always has my best interests at heart. Although I think moms should be celebrated every day, Mother’s Day is right around the corner and we all know we’re scrambling to find that one-of-a-kind gift she’ll love. Clothes, flowers, cookbooks, home decor — the options are endless! As for my mom, clothes are my family’s go-to gift. Anything she can add to her swoon-worthy wardrobe puts a smile on her face.
Before I start shopping for my mom, I’ve been thinking up some ideas that will minimize the amount of time spent shopping (and probably feeling hopeless) while not breaking the bank. To make your gift finding a bit easier, I’m sharing my inspiration with you!
If you’re thinking of buying clothes for your mom, a light cardigan is always a winner. She can wear it year-round and it’s a pretty, classic pick that is always in style. Where to find the perfect cardigan? Talbots! They have a multitude of options, so go ahead and grab one for your grandmother, aunt and all the other moms in your life too! How about a pick like this? I’m loving the graphite grey.
For a fresher idea, nothing says Mother’s Day better than flowers. They’re the ultimate statement for this special day. I know, I know, you’re probably thinking “wow, how original Sara” — but they really are a beautiful way to show your mom you care. My mom’s absolute favorite are orchids. Their boldness can transform a room, and if taken care of properly, they can last up to a month! Trust me, your mom will love this one.
There’s one more gift idea that has inspired me this Mother’s Day…cookbooks! I’ll be honest, while I haven’t mastered any dish in the kitchen yet, I know my mom sure has. A cookbook is the perfect way to spend time with your mom to whip something up together. If I decide on this gift, I’m hoping my mom can teach me a thing or two. Some cookbooks I’ve had my eye on are Cook. Nourish. Glow., From Junk Food to Joy Food and Cook For Your Life. Now, if only I’ll be able to choose!
I hope that my bit of inspo this week will help you when searching for the perfect gift for your mom. It’s going to be tough for me to choose what my gift will be! Who knows…I’ll probably end up getting them all. She has that effect on me! 😉
