Ok working mamas, this one is for you!
I’ve started to dabble in some consulting work now that sleep is becoming a constant again. It’s a nice getaway when the munchkin is napping and gives me a few extra talking points when the hubby asks how our day went – as much as he loves hearing about our baby adventures.
I was called to a meeting last week and had a bit of a panic, realizing I hadn’t dressed for the office in over a year. What? How? Why? All the questions surrounding my life and fashion came into play all at once as I tried to put together the most “corporate chic” outfit I could find in my closet.
A few other consultants were meeting us there and THREE of them we sporting this vibrant orange color – news flash, this is supposedly a hot color this spring. So, I took notes.
I would love to pick up a few similar pieces to add to my up-and-coming (again) work wardrobe. I was thinking of looking for a nice orange or papaya pencil skirt, like the one pictured above at DKNY or J.Crew Factory. From what I’m seeing, I can sport it with all my pre-baby white and cream blouses – We all know those went into hiding for a while.
I also love the idea of making it work for a few months into the cooler Fall weather. I really like this orange jacket that could easily be paired with the same orange skirt, to make for a fancy orange-on-orange look. My husband will barely recognize me!
I found this offer on TangerOutlets.com for $25 OFF a purchase of $200 or more at DKNY, so here’s to hoping I find both pieces there. They’re always right on trend.
I can’t help but think about how great this jacket would look with a pair of jeans, fun/comfy sneakers and an oversized sweater too. Here I am going back into mommy mode, but I would love to sport this to one of my kid’s upcoming events this season!
