The off-the-shoulder styles are one of the biggest trends of the season, seen on runways around the globe. These breezy necklines are making blouses more breathable, dresses breezier and everything just a little sexier. Designers showcased a number of “cold shoulder” silhouettes for Spring/Summer 2016, including halters, cut-outs and off-the-shoulder styles. This is a great trend for those that love these airy fashions, but aren’t 100% comfortable with going sleeveless. It’s a flattering shape that is easy to wear and a trend you can safely invest in without having to worry about it going in and out of style.
Below are two of my favorite runway-inspired looks from Tanger Outlets.
This classic black dress is sexy in a modest and chic way. It’s a great way to show off your summer glow without going overboard. With a bit of elastic at the neckline and a loose, flowy fit, this LBD has quickly become the most worn piece in my warm-weather wardrobe. The ties on the sleeves also add some fun and flare! For this look, I added a dynamite pair of lace-up heels – it takes the dress from a simple summer piece to a sizzling night-out ensemble.
I also tried my favorite black off-the-shoulder dress with these showstopping (almost knee-high) gladiator heels, which made for a bold and comfortable, casual look. Gladiator heels are a must for everyone’s summer wardrobe. Check out BCBGMAXAZRIA at Tanger for similar styles!
My second favorite off-the-shoulder look includes this royal blue blouse and my go-to white summer shorts. Not only is the blouse my favorite of this season’s Pantone colors, Snorkel Blue, it fits like a dream! This is undoubtedly the most comfortable outfit I’ve worn this year. The blouse falls just below the waist, flowing right into the pleated shorts of a similar look and feel, fabric wise. To add structure and dress it up, I paired the outfit with my classic black strappy sandals from Saks OFF 5th. I’m sure I could manage to make these beauties work with just about any look in my closet.
