Springtime is the perfect opportunity to incorporate a splash of color into your wardrobe! If you’re wondering what that color should be this season, we’ve got the answer – Yellow!
This year’s runways and red carpets have been full of this sun-drenched hue. From soft buttery lemons to fluorescent highlighter shades, it was clear the world’s top designers had yellow fever.

Many women struggle with this cheery shade, thinking it does nothing for their skin tones but the trend is unwavering and I’m here to tell you there’s a shade for everyone!
Here’s your guide to finding the perfect match:
If your skin tone is _______ then you should look for _______.
Fair & cool → soft, light yellows like daffodil and banana
Fair & warm→ dijon or citron shades of yellow
Medium & cool → silky and satiny shades of honey or butterscotch
Medium & warm → a nice buttery shade of yellow
Deep & cool → saturated shades of bold canary yellow
Deep & warm → bright pineapple hues
#TangerTip: If looking to mix shades of yellow, try to incorporate different textures to avoid looking like a walking paint swatch.
Now that you know exactly which shade is right for you, it’s time to get movin’ and add a few new playful pieces to your Spring 2017 “collection” (ahem… closet). 🙂
Here are a few of my favorite pieces from some of my favorite Tanger retailers.
And lastly, a little style inspiration for those looking to incorporate this life-giving color in with some of your existing wardrobe items.
Keep it simple with a buttercup high-waisted short, paired with a classic white blouse. If you’re in a super cheery mood, bring in another bold color with a pair of strappy spring heels.
Want to show off your new found love for yellow at the office? Pair highlighter hues with khaki or more neutral tones for a subdued look (that still screams “ooh, I’m confident”).
Yellow and denim is so not 90’s. Tie in a feminine flare with ruffle sleeves and an a-line mini skirt and you’re ready for brunch with the ladies. Fun tip – Toss on sneakers and a great letterman jacket for an athleisure twist.
Yellow should be a natural go-to when vacation planning, especially if traveling somewhere tropical. I prefer long, colorful maxis. They’re easy to throw on for dinner and can be repurposed as a chic cover up when on a day date or excursion.
Ahh I’m in such a good mood just writing about this color, I’m so excited for you guys to experience what it feels like to wear it boldly! It really is powerful and somewhat forces you to put a smile on your face and make it a great day. Try frowning in yellow… Let me know how it goes. 🙂
Anyway, tag @tangeroutlets on social to show off all of your new yellow finds. They’re everywhere, you can’t miss them.
Happy shopping everyone!
