People always drop the line, “College is the best time of your life.” And while they’re most likely referring to the social events, friendships, and sports one of the best parts about college is probably the most underrated—discounts.
All you need is your student ID or college email address and you can score freebies and deals from many retailers and companies. The hardest part about college discounts is finding them and remembering to use them. My tips on getting the most out of college discounts are below!
- Tanger has your back. Heading to a Tanger Outlets location? Stop by Shopper Services for a free coupon book for exclusive deals at participating retailers! Coupon books are typically $5 making this perk just one of the many ways Tanger helps you save.
- Do some research. Spend the time to google your favorite brands, restaurants, and attractions to find out if they offer discounts. Or just do it quickly while you’re in line or before you go!
- Just ask! It’s hard to round up every single offer and discount. The best way to find student discounts is to ask! Even places around the world like museums and attractions may discount a rate when you present a student ID. Many restaurants and retail locations also have discounts or freebies.
- Don’t assume there won’t be a discount. A lot of companies offer free memberships, perks, or rewards as a student. It might not be a retailer or restaurant, but a lot of attractions, services, and suppliers are offering up student discounts and incentives.
Getting a higher level education is obviously the goal of college, but using college’s perks along the way like college discounts are extremely nice. They won’t last forever so use them while you can!
