1. Set your alarm 10 minutes earlier than usual
I know it sounds painful, but trust me waking up and having time to let your body wake itself up is so underrated! It’s so much better than pressing snooze 5 times only to have to jump out of bed and rush through your routine. Balance out waking up 10 minutes earlier by going to bed 10 minutes earlier. It’s the easiest way to adjust to waking up and going to bed earlier if you really want to take it a step further and overhaul your sleep schedule.

There are a ton of yoga and meditation apps in the app store that give you quick 5-10 minute exercises to kickstart your morning. Your body will thank you later! This is just another great way to jumpstart the day and make the day more productive than ever.

3. Set down your phone
You heard me! Try not to touch your phone for the first 30 minutes in the morning. As tempting as it is to scroll through social media, it’s not conducive to getting your day on the right path. Instead, try journaling for 5 minutes or thinking about something you’re thankful for in your life. It’s all about mindset!

Kickstarting your day the right way starts with self care both mentally and physically. Waking up earlier, stretching, and staying off your phone will start your day off the right way. I’ve been trying this for the semester so far and have noticed I’m much more productive and happy!
