If you’re anything like me, a clean and organized space makes all the difference in the world when it comes to overall happiness. Whether you’re in a dorm, an apartment, or a house the more storage and organizational items you have the better.
With a tight college budget in mind I’ve come up with my favorite products and ways to organize a small space without breaking the bank!
Bins With a Purpose
DOTTIE BIN SET | $16.99 |
When buying bins it’s important to remember that bigger isn’t always better. For a small space having smaller bins that can be used in drawers, on shelves and under a couch or bed is typically more useful than getting a huge bin. I recommend getting a variety of medium to small sizes like this pack below from T.J. MAXX at Tanger Outlets.
Hang It Up
GREEN CACTUS WALL HOOK $12.99 | 8 PACK GREY HANGERS $5.99 |
It sounds so simple, but hanging up your backpack and having plenty of hangers makes a world of difference. Getting things off the floor, tables, and other surfaces instantly makes a space look larger and cleaner. Use this as an opportunity to add style to the space as well, like these fun cactus hangers from FRANCESCA’S. They’re fun and practical. Win win!
Tanger Tip: For dorm and apartment spaces that don’t allow you to nail into the wall, command strips usually do the trick!
When it comes to clothes hangers, go for the thin ones like these from T.J. MAXX. You’ll be so surprised at how much room they save in your closet (I’m talking double the space)!
Multipurpose Storage
NICOLE MILLER BRUSH HOLDER | $12.99 |
Any storage is great, but having containers not just bins that can be put on desks, dressers, and coffee tables can really help declutter your space as well. This gold holder from T.J. MAXX would be great for pencils on a desk, makeup brushes on your vanity or for anything else you need to organize!
Purge!
Decluttering and organizing a space is way easier once things you don’t need are out of the way. Try to donate items you aren’t using at least once a semester. That way you maintain a decluttered space year round.
With the total for this reorganization ringing in at $49 you’re on your way to a reorganized space without a hefty price tag. It’s all about reusing items you have, purging, and buying the correct items for your size space.
