Consider moving from your current workspace to another part of your house or outside to your porch or patio! The fresh air will work wonders for your mood. If you don’t have a dedicated workspace, that’s okay — you can create one! Take a piece of furniture, like a small side table, and make it yours! No matter where you set up to work, be sure you select and area that’s clean and tidy to keep you focused!
Write Out Your To Do List
It’s been proven that writing out your to do list helps to keep you on task and to minimize distractions throughout the day. Not to mention the satisfying feeling of crossing off each task once you’ve finished it! We’ll call that a win-win. Staying on task and keeping your deadlines will be so much easier once it’s written out in front of you.
Take 5-10 Minute Breaks
It’s okay to take little breaks throughout the day! Get up and stretch, go for a quick walk around the block, call a friend, make a fresh cup of coffee — whatever you need to do to stay energized and motivated throughout the day. Turn Off Those Notifications (AKA — Me Time!)
When the clock strikes 5:00, it’s time to turn off those notifications! At least for an hour. 🙂 Give yourself a break from email notifications! Spend some quality time with the fam or video chatting with friends. This allows you to be present and unwind after a long day at your desk!
Embrace The Weekend
Don’t try to cram it all into a day! Embrace your weekends. Spend time with your family outside, reading books, building forts, watching movies and whatever else you have in mind! The weekends are also the perfect time to tackle home projects and organization (hello, spring cleaning!). When you reserve this time for fun and family, you’ll stay more productive and focused during the week!
