Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day on March 8th are both very important to us here at Tanger! We are proud to be a company that celebrates and empowers women — from our top-level executives to our center managers! This year, for Women’s History Month we want to shine a light on the incredible female figures at Tanger and what our brand partners are doing to celebrate female achievement and raise awareness. Additionally, in support of #IWD2021, at Tanger, we’re holding our hands high up to #ChooseToChallenge and invite our shoppers to join us in doing the same!
Women have always been an integral part of Tanger and our company’s journey. It all began with the first four employees under Stanley Tanger that helped shape the company by leading and serving in executive positions. To this day, many of Tanger’s executives are dynamic women that bring innovation, passion, and creativity to the forefront of our business. In fact, women make up much of our workforce as a whole and have grown and developed through further education and mentoring to be amazing leaders at Tanger.
What Is Women’s History Month?
Women’s History Month lasts all of March and gives us a time to recognize, celebrate and honor the wonderful women throughout time that have helped shape the community we live in now. There are many ways to participate in this celebration! By visiting womenshistorymonth.gov, you can browse different events highlighting the accomplishments of women to participate in. Specifically, the theme of 2021 is supporting young women and girls. After all, girlhood can be complicated! This 200 piece exhibit displays the challenges of girlhood over the past 200 years. Be sure to check it out!
#ChooseToChallenge
International Women’s Day is March 8th, and we’re celebrating by making the choice to #ChooseToChallenge. A challenged world is an alert world and from challenge comes change, according to internationalwomensday.com! The goal of IWD2021 is to take action for equality, raise awareness against bias, and celebrate women’s achievement to help create an inclusive world. By raising our hands, we are promising that we #ChooseToChallenge gender equality in the workplace specifically! Will you join us?

Iconic Women in Fashion
From Prada to Vera Wang — these women have paved the way for fashion over the course of time. Their designs have inspired the creativity of designers today. We wouldn’t be surprised if your closet was riddled with staples that these amazing women helped create! But that’s not all the women in fashion have done…take Tory Burch for example!
Tory Burch launched her label in 2004, and it quickly grew into the megabrand you know and love today! Aside from her eye for fashion, Burch was avidly involved in philanthropy — specifically creating the Tory Burch Foundation, which advances women’s empowerment and entrepreneurship in the U.S.!
Gert Boyle, the founder and president of Columbia, also paved the way for women who push boundaries and accomplish extraordinary things. She created a brand that highlights determination, ingenuity and grit. She has given women the platform and the encouragement they need to do it all — from catching a prized fish to scaling the tallest mountains.
